Good battery?

i have a 2005 neon with a 5 year old stock battery. 'nuff said. 500wrms doesnt really agree with the current charging system.

So for such a small system (and possibility of adding another 500w) an uder hood battery will be fine, but i dont know what kind to get. I have read a ton of bad on yellow tops, and need to find a good main battery.

Should i go with the Cheap walmart, fancy from walmart, . In addition to the big 3, should an 85a alt be fine?

I have read since they have shut down thier US plant and have gone to mexico, their new batteries are not good.

has anyone had any luck with interstate? everstart max? or what are other good deep cycles beside optimas?

Check out the C&D Tech batteries floating around in the FS section of the classifieds. You can usually find one for around $100ish, and will be well worth it over a interstate or everstart IMO.

Go to sears and look for their automotive agm batteries.

should i be looking for a higher CCA, or just reserve power? as a general statement, the more money, the better it will be? or are there cheap ones to look for, or expensive ones to not buy?

and you should be able to find a 120amp alt at a junkyard or new from another chrysler car that will bolt right on for cheap

I think my car has the 120, i have a 2005 and the part number is 5033253AA, but cant find a good link if its the right part.

nope yours is 85amp, a pt cruiser 2.4 alt will fit or if you feel so inclined look up around a 02 durango 5.9 and there is an optional 160amp alt, you will have to swap the plug and probably the pulley but it will bolt
