200 amp anl fuse with 500 rms amp?

You fuse for the wire, not the amp. It will be fine
That's not true in EVERY case...for instance my amp doesn't have any internal fuses, so I would be fusing for my amp, and not the wire //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

if you have an extra fuse block or can get them cheaply then it doesnt hurt to have more fuses. You always want one close to the battery on both side (the side from alty to battery and the other side going back to the amp). If your amp has internal fuses then you dont really NEED as an external fuse block, but it doesnt hurt to have it. In the crazy event your popping fuses alot, it helps to have the external fuse block. Most amps will pop fuses only so many times before the amp itself pops. Having that extra external fuse block helps in this extreme situation......however if you do things right you wont be popping fuses
