Golfers, need some suggestions on putters...

wow... this has helped me more than anything in this entire thread.. TY for the heavily inciteful post.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
What makes the blades more difficult to hit?
I'm glad I could save your life from that game.

Not to many pros use the mallet. There will always be a couple..
Its about a 1/3 ratio that uses mallet.
whats the benefit to a belly putter.. those things should be banned for being so **** ugly.. Do they jab them in there gut to create a more even swing? if so that makes sense, but really IMO doesnt qualify as a legit putter..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Well i had a 2 ball odyssey and didnt like it much.. Not that i dont like mallett putters, i just couldnt see spending $200 for my first putter, and actually would like to keep it around $100 if possible.. I saw a few ping blades that were pretty nice.. also saw a bettanardi somewhere on the net.. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?? thanks
I had the same Odyssey putter for two seasons and never could get used to it.

My speed / distance control was never consistant.

I went back to a Ping blade putter and my putting improved immediately.

You really have to go to a golf store and try several models to find the one that works best for you.

Also make sure you get the store pro to help you.

You may have to have the shaft cut to fit.

i love my Odyessey White Hot 2-Ball

for some reason i am ridiculous with that putter regardless of how little i play... i made a couple 20+ footers first few times out this summer.... since then the weather has been shit so i haven't gotten to play

Exactly my problem with it too...

Im shorter.. ( 5'11" ) And i was using a 34.. seemed long , when i was in a over the ball position, but if i was upright it seemed a lil better.. is that about the right size?

well i guess my problems will all be solved soon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Ive been reading up and searching the net on putters.. And a TON of ppl suggest Ping... Also saying that titleist and scotty cameron , copied the design of a $100 ping anser with just a few minor adjustments threw on a cameron name and put it on the market for 4x as much.. this true?
Nearly every company has almost an exact replica of the Ping Anser.

Taylormade, Odyssey, Yes!, Rife, all of them.

Putters are some of the hardest things to sell, IMO. It's ALL about what you like. What sets up good to you, what sightlines you like, if you like a blade or mallet, etc.

Mallets are USUALLY better for beginners because they are more forgiving on off-center hits versus a blade, but you usually sacrifice a little bit of feel and control. Blades usually have a better feel but aren't as forgiving.

If you like the ping, then try all all the different styles they have. There's the I-series that has a soft insert in it, the Karsten series which is a normal solid putter head, and the IWI series which has a firmer stainless steel insert.

Well I ended up trading in the 2 ball for a Taylor made Dayton blade. I still want the ping anser but didn't wanna drop 100 bucks when I didn't have to and this one felt pretty good. It actually feels like a anser but with a insert. Anyone have any experience with these?
