Going from 2 12s to one 18 in mustang

I wouldn't run a set of 8s but only for front staging..Most cant hit the lows/more of a punch than a low draw,to serve well for sub stage.FI SSD set of 12s will sound decent,or SA 12s,Gcons,PSI Plat 2.

I know, I was just using it as a point of reference.

I may have a little bit more space ill remeasure once i remove my rear seats and stuff but with that kind of space will it be good enough for one 18 if i want it to have at least 6 cubic ft ?

Dude, are you listening to these guys at all? See, the way it works is, you ask for help, they give help. Then run with what they help you with. Id switch to a monster pair of 12s quite a few of us do pretty well on them ..pick ur poison ..so many choices out.there. hdc4s tantric hdds aa.tc 5200.many more ..and then theres the custom route where you can hit up @SPLaudio; and he can put together some crazy custom subs for alot less then u would think ..then get @Buck; to design you a killer box and throw 5k to them and sit back and impress

So I guess his re xxx 12's aren't beast enough. I would wall the trunk keep the xxx s and get a bigger more efficient amp like mmats. Just my .02.

xx is a sql sub not designed for spl. although i can rebuild them to make them alot louder

I've seen 8 8s in a 4th order playing above 150 from 25-60 hz. I think they can play low.

Just traded my 04 Mustang around 6 months ago.I had 2-15's in mine and it got nasty but i had to take out the whole back seat and cut some sheet metal to get the right kind of box in it.They are a pita.I'd do whats been suggested with 2 beast 12's or a single monster 15.If you wanna wall an 18 in the trunk it can be done..Heres an idea:

I'd just face the two 12's in to the cabin and seal off the trunk, (thats if you got a fold down seat) and facing them in (for me, in my car) takes away alot of rattles and sounds deeper and cleaner....

thats exactly how it looks when you open my trunk (but with better equip.) had subs facing up, knocked my 6x9's for a whirl, had them facing trunk, rattled and d*mn near took my fin off, faced 'em in and pure bassful bliss!!! lol and alot better sq...

lol, how do you think i feel with this little a** cobalt... lol had to take out back seats to put a ported single sub box in!!! lol, but atleast the back seats got a button and the whole back seat comes out!!!

that 18 looks too big in there, the 12's fit perfect, without the trim cutting off half the sub!!! lol my box was 15in tall and 16in clearance, nice little snug fit!!!
