Going from 2 12s to one 18 in mustang

I honestly just want to do a single 18 as doing more will obviously mean more power and more money..For electrical i have stock alt 105 amps i think, Big 3 and a d3400 xs power up front, 1 gauge wiring

I have a single t1500 and a t400 for my mids and highs

Im thinking of getting a Fi Q18

I wouldn't wall it off then. Do your seats fold down? How much trunk space do you have to work with?

This ^ or buy 2 obsidian 18"s if your doing a wall .. They will sound clean as well .. Be about same price

Id do a pair of 15s if the seat gets folded down..other than that,prob a set of heavy 12s in that car..Just me

I was thinking if he was stuck on going with an 18 a upwards firing 18, port facing into the cab if the seats folded down or the trunk if not.

If i do a wall i have about 40in wide 30in tall and 20in depth to work with

my trunk is tiny i barely fit my box for my 12s and its about 3.5 cubic ft

will 2 15s be louder and get as low as one 18?

8's can get low in the right box... A big factor in how well a sub plays certain frequencies is determined by the box it's in. What is the tallest you can go in your trunk?

15 inches is the tallest i can go in my trunk about 32 inches wide and 24 inches in depth

but i would have to slide the box in through the rear seat area and the entrance is only about 28 inches wide

im just set on doing a wall because i want to try something new and want to have my full trunk space for my spare and stuff.

With that amount of cu ft...Id run the 12s/heavy 12s..Im running 4.0@32 htz for a pair of 1k tens.You might get by with a single 15 with that cu ft spacing,to serve any justice at all,or a pair of good 12s.

8's can get low in the right box... A big factor in how well a sub plays certain frequencies is determined by the box it's in. What is the tallest you can go in your trunk?

I wouldn't run a set of 8s but only for front staging..Most cant hit the lows/more of a punch than a low draw,to serve well for sub stage.FI SSD set of 12s will sound decent,or SA 12s,Gcons,PSI Plat 2.

I think you should just get a pair of sundown sa-12's and have someone build you a nice enclosure in the trunk with the subs and port facing into the cabin and sealed off. It'll look a whole lot nicer, play low if you tune it low and get plenty loud.

Hell, even a pair of XFL 12s will get down in a good enclosure..prob rip that car apart with good electrical,and power
