gmos lan 4 questions

I am installing a aftermarket hu and 4 channel amp in my 2008 saturn aura. I want to keep my door chimes dont subscribe to onstar. I have the gmos lan 4 . I know that the gmos lan 3 has the door chime speaker built in. I guess the chime signal goes through the rca left front. Instead of buying the different harness can i just use a y splitter and send the signal into my amp. In other words i would take the left front rca on the harness along with my hu left front rca and plug into y adapter and go back to my amp. Would i get the chime sound. I know it would be loud.

it sounds like it would work but doesnt your hu have like a front bus audio in or something? thats what its made for

Chime audio will not be passing through your new HU at all. It will only come out of the output end of the gmos-lan-04. SO your smartest bet is to by a little 3.5 or 4 inch speaker and wire that to the factory speaker wires attached to the drivers front door speaker and run new wires for your aftermarket speakers
