GMOS-01 with 2 little speakers?

Took my '06 Silverado to the shop to get a Kenwood deck installed, and wanted to keep the Onstar working and the warning chime working through the speakers on the doors. Took the GMOS-01 and the deck to the installer. The installer said that he never used a GMOS-01 before and he installs a different brand, but no problem. Pick up the truck and he said that he needed to install two little speakers under the dash, one for onstar and one for the warning chime. Does this sound right? I thought thats why you used the GMOS-01 to retain the warning chime and onstar through the speakers in the door?

Im pretty sure the gmos 04 is for retaining onstar

If not then it still should have played through the front speakers UNLESS you are running a 4 channel then yes that sounds right
