Girlfriend getting new car! READ

I have to recommend a Ford Taurus. While they're a b*tch to install anything audio related in, I have yet to find one that was unreliable, mechanically. I have a 92, my lil bro has a 90, a friend of mine has an 88, and a coworker has a 93. All of them Taurus GL. Hardy little car with good milage. I get roughly 26mpg.

I'll have to disagree on the hard to install on a taurus. I had an '89 ford taurus gl and all the audio stuff was really easy installing. It is an excelent car. Huge trunk and very big back seat :boobies:

I think you should get a nissan, honda, or a toyota...not sure what models, but one of them.
Totally. Awesome reliability, and great cars. You might also look at the luxury manufacturers from those brands (Infiniti, Acura or Lexus). I was looking for a Maxima a while back. I ended up finding an Infiniti J30 for cheaper than the Maximas I was looking at.

imho taurus ****, my mom had a 95 sable that she got in 96 0r 97 that sucked A$$ one problem after another, same with their friends taurus that was of a same year. and the 95 contours are a bad idea as well. my gf just got rid of hers after putting 200 + a month into it for the last 4 months.... the 626 is a good car. got one now (bit more than 4 gs thought) but i am shure you can find an older one for around that. plust they are mechanicly the same as a probe or a mx6.

what about like an older monte carlo??i used to detail carsfor a car lot and i cleaned one car that was bad....i wanna say it was an infninty or somethin, anyway, supercharged, big *** sporty dash, huge leather interior, big *** trunk, u could fit like 5 dead bodies in the thing.....only went for like 3 or 4 thousand at the auction....

The taurus is a great family car, or if you travel plenty of trunk room. I have a '97 taurus GL and the audio install other than the extra cost of the face plate was easy. decent gas milage too.planty of cab room to, me and my freinds are all bigger, me 6'1" and 230, friends of 6'4" 300+, 6'5" about 200 and 6'6" touch over 200 all fit in relitivley comfortablely, drive it like it is a family car and it will last for awhile.

contor=issues

ummm... their a plenty of good cars for that price, should check you paper and see what poeple around u have for sale. or just go for a drive and find decent cars that way too.

best to go shopping with an open mind u will be suprised how many cars are for sale, I was and I live in a county with less people than most cities.

^^ for 4 grand i doubt you canf ind one

everyone quit recommending old american cars, they're like a double whammy. first off they're american, and they're already old, it's just gonan cr@p out before you even know it lol. stick to your asian imports with low miles (though mazda had a checkered reputation in the 90s) and you should be fine. someone made a sad face next to a civic, too bad it's more practical and reliable than 90% of the suggestions given

i would get a toyota, honda, or nissan as japanese cars will actually last and don't require much maintanance. Also the luxury brands such as lexus, acura, and infiniti make some nice rides but may be a little more costly. I had a 1995 camry with 220,000 miles and all i ever did to it was change the oil and rotate the tires. No other maintanance was needed.

American cars are nice don't get me wrong but they do not compare in reliability, not even close

Low milage used Volvo, 940 or 740, maybe a 245 etc... Something from the early 90's... It'll last forever, if it's turbo it'll have decent kick, not too expensive... did I mention they last forever ? Any Volvo under 100K miles isn't even broken in!
