Ok my audiopipe 4 channel came in and I want to wire it up. Problem- my avic n1 just went out on me so now I am back to the factory deck. Now here is my ghetto solution...

if i took a output converter, and wire tapped the speaker wires coming from the factory deck and turned them into rcas, ran that to the 4 channel and ran all seperate wires from the door speakers to the 4 chan...would that work? could this be an alternative since the factory deck has no preouts...

If I understand you properly, you want to tap a factory HU's outputs, and not connect them to the speakers. Take the taped high-level signals into 2 LOC's... into a 4ch amp. Then, wire the amp to speakers.

My only concern is that will the LOC may not work without a speaker load on the HU outputs... I've always run them off "live speaker wires".

Otherwise, it seems like a fine setup... though a little ghetto. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fro.gif.c695f1f814b01c4ad99fe7f8cccadd29.gif

basically it would be live becuse the voltage coming out of the radio would go to the LOC, which would go to the amp, then to the speakers....

truly ghetto.

but will work. i think. i just wanna be sure b4 i buy 20 ft of 16 gauge and these locs...

Kicker KQ9 or Audiocontrol Three.1, problem solved with a non-Ghetto solution.
three.1 or kq9. just guessing takes a full range input like that out of a head unit, has built in adjustable crossovers for front rear and sub. with those being the preouts. how do you plug the HU into the three.1?

1 set of speaker level inputs, puts front, rear, and sub outputs with 3 different frequency points on the Three.1 and 9 different frequency points on the KQ9. you just need to tap into a power, ground and remote source.

Are you amplifying the stock speakers? If so, or if you're running less than like 150rms to each speaker, I would just use the stock wiring. You can run the factory deck wires to the loc, then loc to amp, and then run the speaker outs back to the stock wiring.
