GF wants a set up. Suggestions?

Her vehicle is a 2001 Dodge Neon, already has a Pioneer headunit (not sure what model) but it's good for a start.

Listens to mostly rock, r&b, country and little rap, and she wants SQ over SPL. She doesn't like the sound of my 12" CVR's, so I'm looking for something cleaner.

I was thinking a pair of 10's or a single 12" would be fine, just not too sure what sub. I was thinking Alpine Type E's since they seem pretty decent and cheap for SQ subs. Any suggestions?

Also, what are some good comps/coaxils to go with the SQ set up?

i'd say two eights, one or two tens, or one twelve (sealed box) with at least recommended power (250W RMS each) and she'll be quite happy.

Thanks for the site address, I'll check into the Assassins. I'm not a audio expert but I think it would be hard to hear 1 10" in the Neon. If it were me I'd get a single 12" since I'm more of a fan of 12's.

But with the rock and country, I think 10's would sound better.

should get great SQ, won't need much power (250-400W) and won't take up much space (1ft^3)

haha, i'd just get 3 assassin 12's and put one in her car sealed and then port two of them for yourself. loud(er) and better sq than the cvr's.

also, if you want cheap, good sounding coax's, look into the pioneer rev's. best i've heard under $100 (online price, check my sig).
