getting too loud while others arent

my subwoofers unevenly get louder than others. when i turn up my HU, some of the smaller subwoofers hit their max, while the larger ones still have a way to go before THEIR max. i have 8 subwoofers. do i have to take it somewhere to get it specially tuned or something? I would just get rid of them all just get two big powerful amps and subs but i just recently got new carpeting and all of the inside is covered in leather padding, and if i take out the boxes it will leave large portions of metal roof and floor showing. what you prolly did is tweaked with the gains for each amp at differnt times...

THIS IS JUST A SUGGESTION IM NOT POSITIVE!

BUT I think why not try first turn your gains all the way down.... get it to one level, and then tweak ur amps at THAT volume...

^^^ definately, different subs, with different sizes and impedence. It makes for a bad situation. Find a sub you want then sell the rest.

lol sounds like you have a linearity problem on excursion lol not only is it a gain problem but enclosure problems as well does not sound like fun to me at all

it wouldnt be a problem with different size subs. as long as you have different amps going to each size and make. you can then tune the gains to match. now depending on the power difference and amplifier difference they might be a little off but you should be able to get them pretty close. unless something is tweaked in one of the subs or amps.
