Getting fired, am I facing legal issues?

Not to say you want to go through the legal system, but No personal stuff on the internet could mean no facebook/myspace on their company issued computers. Doesn't necessarily imply no laptops. You are in a somewhat good position. Not because you can get fired, but because if you do and this stuff wasn't clearly written down somewhere that you could access, you would easily win the case.
OP is on company time... he is at work not at home..

he is being paid to be "working" not surfing the net or anything other than WORK during his hours on the job.

last time I checked an employer doesnt need to specify that...FYI...

yes he can.

reset the router (unlpug/plug back in) and it will reissue all IP addresses...

if your laptop was connected today, or since the last time the router was rebooted (or released IP's) they can see it

as far as PC anywhere, they can t use i tto access your lappy, just the Work PC

Unless they have logfiles, they can't do sht. If they had had logfiles, you'd already be gone. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Go unplug the wireless for a bit theough, make sure there is nothing being saved in memory.

Do as someone else said. Deny deny deny. The onus is on them to prove it.

Say you sold the laptop on craigslist a while ago to fuel your slimjim habit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Yea U Can Format But The Feds Have A Program That Can Read What Was On The Hdd So Basically Formating Does No Good.
Yeah but this isn't an issue of national security. They won't get involved.

Even data places have an extremely hard time (re: expensive) of getting any data off a hd after just one reinstall. Find you a decent disk destrying program and have it make a couple of passes if your that worried. Problem solved.

Alright heres how you should cover your ***.

1) Hard reset the router to factory defualt.

2) Leave the network with no password - they cannot tell if it had one before.

Unless someone ratted you they have no way of knowing what you were doing unless they are computer hacker ceo badasses.

YOUR ISP KEEPS ALLL THAT CONFIDENTIAL. They even wont release your name until the third offense of downloading bad stuff.

Either your boss or the temp ratted you they have no way of knowing especially after you delete the fingerprints left in the packets in the router.

Last and final option as someone said before is definitly a loaded weapon. Preferably full automatic.
