Getting fired, am I facing legal issues?

Yea U Can Format But The Feds Have A Program That Can Read What Was On The Hdd So Basically Formating Does No Good.
ALl you have to do is get a good neo magnet and swipe it a few times and they cant get anything.

But your right a basic swipe is not good enough anymore.

You could just stomp on your laptop a lot they would have much reassembling to do.

OP is on company time... he is at work not at home..he is being paid to be "working" not surfing the net or anything other than WORK during his hours on the job.

last time I checked an employer doesnt need to specify that...FYI...
An employer needs to specify everything in writing. For him to be able to post to the forums means it's ok for him to surf the net in his "down time" I don't think his performance is what's in question here. If he was a shitty employee that surfed the net all day, he'd be gone.

But again there has to be policies in place or the OP can just plead ignorance. You can't assume anything is or was implied when it comes to the fallout from firing someone.

They could....but would they pay the huge fee that would be required to do so? Is it really worth it? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Disclaimer: I take no part in this situation and all information hereafter is strictly for educational means.

Neos on a hdd does not work usually. There are two ways. Full format(Not quick or fast) 7 times, or physically take a torch to the platters in the hdd. Heat the platters until they are slightly red hot, at which point they will be past the curie point, and lose their magnetic charge.

The format 7 times is 99.5% successful on removing 100% of the files. I have tested this myself, with a manual recovery program. I am part of a computer repair business.

Good sir. They would spend lots of money to prove that an otherwise good worker was surfing the internet. We are talking the internet. It is still taboo in most cultures to my knowledge.

As long as he completes his work and gets the golden star sticker who really cares?

Oh yeah suits.

Don't know about New York, but here in the communist wealth. That chit won't fly. You can be fired for pretty much anything short of discrimination. With no consequence to the employer. Right to work state my fat hairy arse //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
