I agree with the OP. SO many people here now just repeat what they've read and not actually experienced, and talk about it as if they have.

That said, I almost always only post with reference to something iv'e either owned or used fairly extensively.

IDK... good question.. i assume your refering to a burp box with some aero ports? i know nothing about those, never built one...

i have added length to a slot port on a preixisting box, extended the port length and got a considerably noticable change as far as lowering the frequency

and the airspace the box works off of and the port airspace are calculated seperately, then added for a total of enclosure volume W/port.

i have two sepereate boxes, 1 for each pair of my 18s, and they are working off of 12.3 cubes and my port volume is 2.7 so the total enclusure came out to 15cubes per box w/port and i got my tuning exactly where i wanted it

so if i added length to my port, that would lower the frequency

or if i added length to my box and ended up making the box bigger to accomidate for the subs working airspace it would lower the frequency.

just my experience and use of it!
