Gas mileage has gone to shit. Why?

Their is not fuel filter on this car, i believe just a pcv valve of something. Thats what the dealer told me

truth.....the accord i4 has a strainer in the tank, but no inline filter

Does anyone here know what the thing is called thats inside the breather, that controls the little flap that opens the preheater tube? Whatever it is its operated by vaccum

that is a vacuum solenoid.....old fashion EGR

edit: sorry....vacuum diaphram

or you could call it an actuator

Also now when you say you get only 350 miles, is that from f to e? b/c the accord's have a 17 gallon tank but 3 of those is a reserve. So when you gas light comes on it has only used 14 gallons and you still have 3 in reserve. Thats how you can drive for a good while with the light on

Well i know their is a spray cleaner they sell in autozone and advance auto. No on the accord I know their is a map sensor on the top of the engine, but im not sure if their is a maf sensor in the air filter compartment, but i will check

What i meant by that first question was, should the egr be hooked up to a vacuum on the carb so it doesnt open? Its like an actuated valve deal right? I have just a vacuum cap over it, so couldnt it be hanging open inside my intake messing up flow or something?

it should default to closed....not open

i wouldnt use the q- tipp,more chances of messing it up.if you use the spray right,it will do a thorough job by itself.

EDIT;if you have to use a q-tip,you have waited too long before you cleaned it lol
