true, but it's better than nothing. That is the ultimate laziness, to have a simple tool like that and not even use it.
Hey I'm not saying people don't have hard lives, Mine wasn't a cakewalk, and I joined the Marines to get out of my hometown. Learned some dicipline, and how to work hard and never give up. I positively used my fighting spirit for the betterment of my own life rather than letting life wash over me like a wave and wondering why it didn't turn out the way I wanted like so many these days. I learned real early that I was owed nothing and if I wanted someting for myself the only way it would happen was if I made it happen.
I understand that many kids grow up in bad neighborhoods, but at some point, they have to realize that killing is wrong/illegal/whatever. Ofcourse it is easier for them to continue that self destructive cycle than it is to do something about it.I feel u and i see the marines has molded u. But do u think that most of those people that do bad things will even survive in the marines or take actions like urself to make them a better person. i dont think so personally but society has made many people that way which is sad, i feel people should have good enough parents to guide them in the right direction. But people that do jone gangs, or murder may jus recieve that mentality from the neighborhood they were forced to be raised in and thats all they know. It's sad to see people grow up that way and countinue lifes bad traditions
I blame the parents. If you live in the projects and can't provide a life for a child, you shouldn't have one. Just because you can is no reason to have a kid. I have been married 4 years now and watched all my friends my age have kids, and I just don't want to have on right now, because I don't want that responsibilty. I have a dog, and I don't even get to give hime the attention he deserves, why would it be fair to a child if I can't own my dog to my satisfaction/standards?!
i wrote a set of papers on this very topic this semesterI work in public education and imo, the biggest problems with education today:
unrealistic mandates
the flood of liberal attitudes in education(don't want little johnny's self esteem to be harmed)
parents who have lost any and all clue they might have had about what is fair and reasonable expectations of schools and/or teachers.
For every teacher these days who might nail a kid for their spelling, there will be 5 parents crying about "oh just give my kid another chance" or "well, you know what word they were trying to spell so what's the big deal."
TRUST ME, deal with a few insane parents and you would know exactly what I am talking about.
For those who think it is "cool" to not know how to spell, your future employers won't find it so cool when you can't spell the easiest words on a job application.
