I agree public schools need more funding, but you can't blame it on the schools all the time. You can't teach someone who doesn't wanna learn. Especially someone who doesnt even show up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifThere will always be people looking to take the "easy" route to get to where they need. It's just really sad they dont this "easy" street just leads to a broke as life in the hood because you caught doing something stupid and foked your life up bad, or it can lead you to a jail cell or death.

I work in public education and imo, the biggest problems with education today:

unrealistic mandates

the flood of liberal attitudes in education(don't want little johnny's self esteem to be harmed)

parents who have lost any and all clue they might have had about what is fair and reasonable expectations of schools and/or teachers.

For every teacher these days who might nail a kid for their spelling, there will be 5 parents crying about "oh just give my kid another chance" or "well, you know what word they were trying to spell so what's the big deal."

TRUST ME, deal with a few insane parents and you would know exactly what I am talking about.

For those who think it is "cool" to not know how to spell, your future employers won't find it so cool when you can't spell the easiest words on a job application.

I was pleased when I heard the govonator denied clemency and he got the needle. If only they killed them off faster like in China where they shoot you in the back of the head and bill your family for the bullet. One positive about communist dictatorships....

I couldn't agree more, this country took a major downturn when parents started acting like ******* and not requiring kids to learn. And the government hasn't helped by constantly cutting funding despite tax increases, and not paying teachers dick. All these parents want schools to be responsible for turning thier spawn into adults without any responsibility for themselves. I think it's funny you have to get a liscense to own a dog, but anybody can get knocked up and have a kid with no preperation for raising one whatsoever.

Have you ever noticed that white trash NEVER need fertility drugs? It is always the educated, professional people who have trouble conceiving.

The people who should NOT have kids always have the most kids.

Yeah it's really sad. And then you get a-hole biches that crank out kid after kid to gravy train the welfare system. I think in order to be on welfare women should be required to get a semi-permanent contraceptive device like a Norplant, so they can't have more kids. No contraception - No government money.

Oh that should be at the VERY least, but the ACLU would be crying if something like that happened.

life's hard w/o a good role model at home(#1 problem in this country imo ). What exactly do you mean "nail" a student for mispelling a word?
