GAIN question

I have learned a great deal about setting the gain with a DMM with the great help of u guys.. But now i must ask another question that has been bothering me..

When setting the gain,i use the equasion: amp's power x ressistance (ohm) and the square root of that is the number of V i should set on my amp..

For example i have a 2x150 amp.. 150x4=600 square root =24.4 V

NOW MY QUESTION IS: What if i have a 2x 190 amp,and i still put it on 24.4 V

Will my amp give out 150 rms,or will it give out 190 rms,but on a lower level or i dont know what.. ?

How do u mean i will STILL have 150? That ''still'' word got me confused //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

OK //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I got a little confused cause i asked will it give out 150 or will it STILL give 190.. And u said STILL 150 hee hee //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I had to ask that, cause i read somwhere on the web that an amp always provides the same amount of juice no matter what the gain is.. Now i know that is bull beep //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Now lets say i set my 2x190 amp to put out only 2x130 rms, what happens to the 60 rms i didnt use?

Now i have a question.. If u know how u like your settings.. bass at this level, treble at that, bla bla, all the settings.. Isnt it logical to put little little gain, just enough to hear it,and turn up the volume to the level u want to listen to it,and then turn up gain until the music gets distorted?

Insted of that u turn evertything to default, and u set the gains, but after that if u increase some settings (bass, treble etc) and still go to the same level of volume arent u risking going into clip?

Yeah boosting EQ settings can clip the signal.
