If you set the gain according to how many ohms you have to power ratio. is it still putting out the rated power.

Example. if i have a kicker 1200.1 amp. and have the gain set to 1/2. its that 1200 watts or is it 1200 watts witht the gain on full ????

Each amp will put out different numbers at different places due to the difference in voltage being fed to it from the vehicles electrical system. You need to get a DMM, so you do not clip your amplifier...

I answered that for you... We can not know that. No one can tell you where it will put out its max power, you need to get a DMM and set it correctly.

btw, in walmart you can buy a accurate DMM made by Schosche for 20 bucks. And it comes with a door panel popper, crimper tool and screwdriver set.

If it has adequate input voltage from the RCA's; yes.

All of those.

That's what a gain is for. To allow you to achieve full power output (without clipping) over a wide range of signal input voltages.

If you have a lower voltage input from the RCA's, then you need to turn the gain up to achieve full power output. If you have a high voltage input from the RCA's, then you need to turn the gain down so that the amplifier doesn't clip, but you will still achieve full power output from the amp.
