Gain control for different amps

Be careful with 'bass control knobs.' Sometimes these can refer to 'bass knobs' that connect directly to the amp. These will either actuate bass boost from 0 - +18 or adjust gain on the fly. It's a loose term. Avoid these.

I think what you're looking for is what's mentioned above, the PAC LC-1. It will connect in-between your headunit and sub amp RCA connection. (You'll need another short run of RCA's)

Simply adds resistance to the signal path, allowing you to actuate volume from inaudible to as much as the headunit's putting out. You can also use these on mids/highs too if you have each pair of speakers/tweets on their own channels.
