g/fs system went down the drain

I was originally planning to put together a system for my g/f b/c her dad wouldn't ever get around to it.

So I went and bought her a new 12'' Audiobahn 700W sub and traded my xbox off so I could get a new amp and she could have mine and then went and bought an RCA converter so she would be able to hook the amp up b/c she has a stock stereo. I also intended on building a ported box that would wang chung b/c she wanted the loudest it could get.

Well after deciding all of this, her dad decides to build her one and so he hooks up with one of his buddies and goes out and buys a prefabbed box w/ no port and my g/f said its really small, he also goes and gets a Lanzar 900W amp and his buddy says that they can wire the sub up to 8ohms and it would run on 300W and sound good.

So now shes keeping the sub I got her and her dad is getting the rest after Ive done gave up my xbox for another amp so she could have mine and went out and bought a converter.

Plus its a Lanzar amp..............aren't they shit? Most of what I heard from peopel say that they are shit.

I have an 800W Kenwood thats pushing my 2 RE 10s right now just fine, plus its alot better quality than Lanzar or thats what I assume.

Should I tell her dad that Lanzar isn't what it is now than it was back in its prime?? I dont really want to disrespect him and tell him he messed up but I dont want to see shotty stuff get installed either.

Or is the Lanzar an actual godly amp?

Wtf is the guy talkin about anyways? 8ohms? Who would wire a sub at 8 ohms? Those lanzar amps are hella over rated and ****. I would let the dad spend the money on that stuff then let him see how crap it is. Is it an optidrive? I heard they are decent amps although I would not want one.

I doubt its anything really. His buddy is supposedly an EXPERT or so Ive been told and he has his own little shop. But yeah I thought "wtf?" when I heard 8ohms too.

He will be starving that sub with only 300W @ 8ohms or w/e anyways. Its a 700W sub and I was gonna hook my 800W up to it and bridge it and have a 2cuft ported box tuned to 32hz. But oh well.....I guess I'll wait and see what happens.

Can you even wire a 4ohm sub up to 8ohms??

Im complaining b/c shotty stuff is going into her car when I had already had my install planned out and ready.

True, it wont cost me anymore money....but still, I was wanting to see a good system go in her car.

girls dad: you are doing what every un-informed middle age man does... they fall gimick to all the hype that the write on the carten, and they are had for twice the price they should have paid.

go do some research for yourself before purchasing ANY electronic divice. you are wasting your money on a pile of crap for an amplifier, too small of a crappy box, and your 'friend' just made money from your ignorance.
