If you havent already bought a fuse holder and what not, then I wouldnt bother. I, and many others on here, have been running with that wire unfused for quite a while now with no problems. Just be sure that the wire is secure, out of the way of moving parts, and wont touch any part of the engine block that could melt the wire and ground it out.
alright, this is becoming quite the succesfull day. I have already installed my HO 200 amp alt and new Optima Yellow top battery. Which getting the factory wires connected to the positive post was a chore, you will see what I mean once my pics get up. But now I am off to get something to cut this **** 1/0 wire with and do the big three.
I do have a question about one step of the big three: The Chasis to Engine wire.... and I am going off the SD thread here. What exactly do I connect it to? Ground it real good somewhere then what do I connect the other end to? the alt neg/ground???
I will check back on this thread when I return from the hardware store. Thanks for any help.
just pick up one of private pastry's 5 pack of 250a anl fuses. Will work perfectly for what you want. Ive consulted a few ppl, and they concurred with these presumptions. That is what i will be doing for my car.
OK so I am finished with everything! Man what a day. Alternator, Battery, Big 3. Took alot longer than I expected. Crimping 1/0 wire is a *****.
I took some pics but my memory stick reader is not working right now. I downloaded the driver and it is giving me problems. But I hope to have some pics up soon as I want some feedback on what everyone thinks and if I did it all right and how it looks.
