Fuse keep blowing please help!

The wiring may not be your problem. What model DMM did you buy, or post a a pic of it if you can.
Dude, WTF are you talking about. The problem isn't how the subs are wired, the problem is that the amp is drawing more than 60 amps of current.

Technically a larger fuse would solve the problem of the blowing fuses, but if the wire is only rated at 60 amps and he puts a 80 amp fuse in, it will melt the wire when it tries to draw the extra 20 amps that the wire can't handle.

eh i already told him the amp is drawing more than the fuse is rated for but hey who cares what we say people have to make it more complicated and send the guy in a dead end so he will never touch car audio again...

Before you show how ignorant you are, just know that when it comes to troubleshooting, you start with the simple problems first. You have to rule out small indiscreet problems, and then work your way up to the larger ones. A DMM is never an optional tool to have when it relates to car audio.

Man, at least when I'm not 100% sure on something, I don't give advice to people...

At least the OP bought a new 0 gauge amp kit. That actually will solve his problem.

I guess we will see who is right then. lulz

How am I sending him to a dead end by telling him to simply check his impedance load first? If he'd already had one (Like we all should), this would have been a simple go out and check before you go spend an additional x amount of $ on all new wiring. Let alone, a shop installed his gear, which means that he obviously couldn't do the fix himself. But never mind checking the small stuff first, that wouldn't make any sense at all.

Look guys, no need to start talking trash to each other, I really like this website and I am kicking myself in the azz for not finding it earlier. All the points you guys made are valid, I will check my speaker wiring first, beforI go and pull everything apart, only smart, but because I might upgrade my system in the future, the 0 ga will help out, so it wasn't money thrown away. I bought a Craftsman DMM from sears. When I get off work in about 3 hours, I will start working on my ride. Its my fault for not buying the 0 ga in the first place and the shop for installing it in like that, especially that cheap walmart shyt.

I forgot, taking the car back to them isn't an option, that was a year an half ago and now I live in Jacksonville, that was in Pensacola. My fault was again for going this long with the problem.

The verdict is in................it was the wiring. I replaced all my power and ground with 0 ga, and luckily my neighbor knew how to use the DMM. My speakers were wired correctly. It took alot of work since my car system is custom enclosed in the box and all my wires all hidden behind it.

too much to read but I'm sure this is already mentioned...just keep replacing the fuses ...by stepping the values up 5 amps at a time...when you get to the value that doesn't blow...you've found your proper fuse size...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Now I can turn my alpine deck uo to about 37 with no distortion, before I could only get to to about 20 something before I blew a fuse. I have a 250 amp fuse under the hood, as before. I didn't want to just step up the fuse, that would fry my amp, wouldn't it. I will post pics of my setup later. Thanks for all the inputs, I really learn alot about my electrical system. I hope to chat with you guys in other topics
