front speakers not working...wtf?

I was messing with my hu today and faded my sound to the front only to discover, wtf my front speakers arent working. Idk how I didnt notice sooner, I've no idea how long this has been the case, maybe it's been that way since I first hooked them up? Idk lol.

I've checked the connection to the amp and it all seems fine(I dont exactly know what I'm looking for, it was professionally installed) and I took out the speaker and it looks fine cosmetically. What could be the problem? I can get pics if needed.

Make sure the RCA' are plugged in (to both the back of the HU and the amp. Also make sure the amp's power light is coming on when you turn the car on.

The amp power light is on and the amp is working. I know this because the rear speakers are working fine. There is a button that says 2channel/4channel and when I push it the music plays through the rear even when the hu has music faded to the front speakers...wtf?

Digital multimeter or w/e? How will that help? I don't have one anyway. I'd run to town and buy one but I'm hoping to get this fixed before dark(in an hour or 2).

If you run and buy one you can test all the outputs to make sure they are working correctly

Have you ever pulled your hu out before?

No but I know how. What should I look for once I do?
Make sure there are two sets of RCA's plugged into the back (3 if you have a sub amp as well)

And make sure that they are both secure. I dont know how they would have came out if you never removed it before though. There is two sets plugged into the amp correct?

And the amp should be on 4 channel assuming both sets of speakers are hooked up to it

ya check with a Dmm on each channel of your amplifier........

if you have voltage on each channel ( same voltage on each channel). it cant be the amp or RCA's.

it has to be either the crossover if your running components, loose conection, or phase

I think it's one of the sets of cables goin into the amp that's the problem(apprently the front speaker cables). I can plug the back speaker cables into both the rear and front inputs on the amp and have them work but the front wires don't work in any of the inputs. Currently the front cables are unplugged totally and the amp is on two channel(I assume that sends more power to the back speakers because when I clicked the button thing they got louder lol.

temporarily I'm alright but what should I do?

if your talking about bridging your 4 channel amp then yes you will get more more, for you back speakers. if you just use a + and - on one channel it should be the same.

what button thing?

you got to take the speakers out in the front and check to verify the wires are tight and snug on the speaker terminals.

I took the left one out and it all seemed to be snug in place.

And there's a button that says 2channel/4channel and when I push it in the back speakers get louder/softer.
