Front Door Speaker Type Selection

Here is the issue:

My front door has a factory 3-way speaker system installed. I have done some research and found what should fit in the doors with little modification.

Each door can fit:

1 - tweet

1 - 3.5" to 4" speaker

1 - 8" midbass or woofer

I'm thinking I have two good options

Option 1

Install a 2-way 3.5" or 4" component set and an 8" midbass driver

Option 2

Install a 3-way 6.5" component set.

I am looking for excellent SQ. I am currently looking at Focal, MB Quart, JL Audio, Memphis, etc

Any help on which option to go for?

Any other option I missed?

Any picks on which brand/model to pick for this setup?

When you say SQ, what level of sound quality do you have in mind?

Currently putting together a build.

Car: '09 Jetta

HU: Kenwood 9140

Front: that is the question for this post

Rear: factory has 6.5 or 5.25 components installed. will replace those for either a

component set or coaxials. whichever is better for my needs and SQ

Sub: don't know yet. opinions are welcome on this. see SQ note below.

SQ: looking for clarity. listen to mostly rock, metal, hard rock, classic rock, southern

rock, grunge, etc. not really into low bass (rap). like hard hitting clear bass.

Amp: looking into Memphis, Alpine, Sundown, JL, Focal

I am guessing I will have to run active for this component set, correct?

If so, any recommendations on crossovers. I still would like to install the kenwood 9140 HU.
