front door speaker size?? - '91 crown vic

i can't figure out which size comps i should get to replace my factory speakers... speaker fit guides online tell me different sizes... i know it's either 6.5 or 5.25. i've measured them myself, but i'm no measurements i take come out to exactly 5.25 or 6.5.. how exactly do i go about determining what size i should get? and how do i measure the speaker in the door? is it from the outer edge of the bracket, or the outer edge of the surround foam?

What kind of measurement did you come up with? If it's less than 6.5" get the 5.25".

...Or you could make a baffle and run just about whatever you want.

i pulled them out and they measure exactly 6" in diameter...

will get some pics next time i'm out there...

i prefer to keep everything stock in the case i decide to sell the car.. but what is this baffle you're talking about??

is it that hard to understand that your tape measure doesnt even reach 6 inches so its obviously for a 5 1/4 inch speaker? ****
