I just got some sa-12s... so my friend knows someone who owns a shop and he said he is gettin some subs for free kicker l7's and he is saying kicker is the best subwoofer brand you can buy and will blow any other brand or subwoofer. He claims because this is my only second system he is right because he has been doing this for years..that kicker is the best subwoofer brand by far... what you guys think?

kickers are 90% plastic it seems like lol. ur woofers are much higher quality than any kicker hands down. they were ok once, but have real cheap parts and are mass produced in some factory in asia.

Kicker lost the SQ department after they stopped making the old school round solo-barics and XPLs and started making these funny-looking ribbed cones and surrounds.

The solo-X will whoop the SA12 in terms of SPL output and power handling tho.

If he has a properly build enclosure for the L7s it will be hard to convene him other wise. The L7 will put out good spl numbers and I'm sure that is all he cares about.

The L5/L7/solox will all beat the sa in spl in optimum enclosures.
