Friend wants a system, $300 to spend.

Ok, my friend wants a system. He has $300 to spend. He origionally went to a local shop and the guy there told him that he would sell him a 12" L7 with a prefab ported box for $350. I imediately told him no. Prefabs ****. So he told me to find something for him. I originally thought about two 12" type R's (I know, I know) in a 4-4.5cu ft box tuned to 32 hrz and an amp that puts out around 1000w. He said he would go used if he had to. What are yalls opinions for a $300 system, new or used. He's the type of guy that wants name brand stuff, so I don't think he will want RE, Adire, DD, etc. He wants sql, and they will be going in an Explorer. Number of subs doesnt mater as long as their 12"s.

um $300 not including amp? wires? and everything else? I hear the 3004SPL Pioneer subs are great for the price. I've got one but its not hooked up yet. That and Type R.

Not gonna get what he could if he wen with an internet brand. I reccomend a pair of Aresnal 12's and a good 600w amp sealed or ported tuned low.

Does he already have a HU/Mids/Highs? if so, he is not interested in SQL, he is interested in being an annoying phuck...

Kinda funny, but one of his other friends stole him a 4g wiring kit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif and his parents are getting him components and an amp for his birthday I do believe. The box is going to be made by me/him assisting. So all i need is sub(s) and an amp. I could probably talk him into raising his price to $350 to help cover the shiping costs.

I've been looking through the classifieds for all day, and found some stuff.

Whats a decent amp that puts out 800w-1000w and isn't a wallet breaker? Any suggestions?

I know someone selling a new Type R 12" dual 4ohm and a MRD-M1005 as a package for $450 plus shipping. Not sure if that was something he would want to look into.
