I screwed my car system up by connecting the gauge wire that runs to the battery together without a fuse between -----o------ I had a fuse in between the wires before… Don’t ask why I did this, I know it was stupid.

Now the head unit lights up and everything seems fine other than the big fact that I hear no sound from the internal speakers… the left back speaker blew after I connected the wires and the other 3 went dead. I tried connecting a good pair of speakers to the back and I hear a weird hiss coming from the left side and nothing from the right… I’m thinking I screwed my head unit along with some of my speakers. I don’t have much experience with this kind of thing, any help would be appreciated, Thanks

No ammps hooked up to the inside speakers just the head unit... only amp was for the subs... That's what's wierd cause the only wire that runs back to the head unit is the remote right??? how can this screw up the head unit??? or the inside speakers?

I dont really understand what you did with the wire?
Just twisted them together, instead of having the fuse box connecting them. I thought the box that holds the fuse might have been bad. nevermind that though. Like I said It was stupid.

So you just by-passed the fuse? Is that what you are saying?
Yes...

I might add that I don't do this professionally, and I realize I should let a pro handle these types of situations but I don't know any and I don't have much money to take it somewhere.

Yes, that's usually the amp wire.

By-passing the fuse is not going to make a bit of defference, unless you get a direct short, and then, all thats really in danger is the wire itself, and your battery (will drain very quickly).

If your HU started doing this after you by-passed the fuse, u did something else as well. Sometimes if you accedently touch the remote terminal to the chasis of the amp, you ground it, and it can screw up your HU. Also, it could screw up the HU if you accedently shorted the speaker leads to chasis ground as well.
