Friend has some old comp stuff....need info

My friend has some old competition stuff.. Need some info on it because I am thinking of buying it.

He has 2 DD 9000 series 15's. Are these things worth anything?

Also has two DD 18's AKA "The beast"...Never heard of it.

Four 2kW US amps that are brand new.. Didn't know the model number but said they are HUGE (dimension) and were $1500 new back then.

This is all the info I have. Help appreciated.

The 9000's were DD's attempt at a SQ-oriented sub, IIRC.

The DD 'beasts' are 9900's, I believe. The US amps are good amps, current hogs if I remember.

Josh said those amps drew some current too! Soooo...he wants $350 for the amps...$200 for the 15's....$450 for the 18's. When you stated it was DD's " Attempt" at making a SQ sub. Are they respectable and better then my Alpine Type R 15 SQ wise?

Something's wrong here. You must mean 350 for each amp, or that's a steal. And if those really are 9000 series DD's, they aren't very old driver (just came out what, 2 years ago tops?) and they sold for well over a grand iirc, each.

If this is all what you/he says it is, there's several thousand dollars worth of crap he's selling for a fraction of its value.

Ah, my buddy Billy used to have some DD and US Amps gear. He's out on the island as well, thought it might have been his stuff.

I don't know much about the 9000's, so can't really comment on them...just from what I remember, they were DD's "SQ" sub.

Even at $350/amp, that's a good deal. If he wants $350 for both, pay him and run...that's a steal.

Agreed. Either way a good deal, assuming they are what we all are assuming they are, and are in good condition.

There were 2 models...2000 and 2000x...correct?

One was 4 ohm and other was 2 ohm...or one was 2 and other was 1?

They could be the even older VLX's for that matter.

The 9100 series are their sq subs. The 9000 series was actually replaced by the new improved 3500 series. Rms I believe is around a 1000 or so but from what I have seen can take upwards of 2000.

The us amps are probably either the 2000 or the 2000x. The 2000x was the xtermintator line and were great amps. Actually I dont think you could go wrong with either.
