Fresh install (pics)

Could be wrong but that doesnt appear to be a electrolytic cap, if its a carbon filter which it appears to be then it is absolutely useless and i would suggest taking it out and making it a sweet paper weight

i post this in just about every cap bashing thread so ill post it in here.....

i have an 05 civic running about 1400 rms.....stinger batt, stinger 3 farad cap, stock alt.....my voltage never drops below 12 volts....if driving itll stay between 13.8 and 14.2....

my 01 civic was running about 500 rms, stock batt....unless on the highway the lights dimmed insanely and on long bass lines youd only get about half the line and the rest would come in as mush.....

point being my cap in the 05 must be doing some good.......

No your car does not defy physics, i have what is listed in my sig with only 1/0 for the big 3 and a regualr shittackular battey and i dont go below 12 volts.

And if your going off the voltage display on your cap those are most of the time off. Also having a voltage display on a cap raises the resistance on the cap and on the circuit there making it even worse

Im not trying to hate just saying

what about the voltage display right on top of my battery...is that off too? what car do you have? IF what you are saying is true i bet ur alternator is a heck of alot larger than mine.....my civic has a 60 amp alternator......

my girlfriend has the same car as i do, about 750 rms, stock batt and her voltage drops all the time....sometimes so low her radar detector says low batt on it.......again my stinger batt and cap must be doing something...

Wha? From now on I will just ignore any "caps are useless" posts because they are really annoying. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

That is, without a doubt, definitive proof that caps are useful. Thankyou so much for that irrefutable proof.
I mean, diff car, diff charging system, diff batt, diff stereo... but otherwise that's a very scientific proof. No way any of those other pesky little variables could have affected what you describe, right?

I guess all the posts where people describe, mathematically, how the vast majoirty of caps CANNOT help your system, unless they break the laws of physics, are just too complicated for you guys to get. Math means nothing next to all you back-yard scientists, theorists and electrical engineers, right?

i've had good luck with caps in the past but now prefer to just run a second battery, same price but more effective. Leave it as it is now since you have no problems. My only problem is the tuning, 53hz is crazy, not even kicker recommends a tuning so high. i would ask for my money back if you paid for the box and have someone build you a box around 9cf or close to it tuned to between 33-38hz. Wow, i can't beleive your box is tuned to 53hz. When i had L7's i was tuned to 38 hz and it didn't play that low. Trust me, play some little jon or 36 mafia and you'll see it may not hit the lows with much authority

the box is 35 hz. i never said it was 53.
