I just received my Boston Acoustics 400m amp (to power my Boston 12" G2).
I know you are not supposed to use two crossover points for one signal, but the amp LPF can't be turned off. Also the head unit (Pioneer DEH-7200HD) LPF can't be shut off either, in other words, if i want to use the sub-woofer pre-outs the LPF on the head unit is unavoidable.
I currently am using the rear speaker pre-outs for the sub amp, but i had to disconnect the rear speakers(stock, powered by head unit amp) because those speakers distort too quickly an wouldn't be able to keep up with the rest of my system at high levels (i wouldn't be able to lower the power to the rear speakers without doing the same to the sub amp, if that makes any sense)
I guess what i'm trying to ask is,
Can i run two crossover points, as long as they are relatively far apart, like 80hz and 125hz?
If so, should is set the amp to 80hz and the HU to 125hz, or vice versa? (i want the sub to play 80hz btw)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, i tried searching for a similar thread/info, but couldn't really find what i was looking for.
I really want to hook up my rear speakers again, but only if i can do it without sacrificing sub sq.
