For those who have a problem with me. . . Step inside

Ohhh, now I can't argue with you b/c you know more about rap music than me...okay, lets think about this. You claim to be an underground fan, right? Everything else sucks, b/c it is "mainstream". Now, I ask you this...how much more mainstream is Eminem than Nelly...I mean ****, you have young white girls running around with Em shirts on like he is one of the Backstreet Boys. He sells more albums (reguardless of the fact that they are crap) than most anybody would dream of...now, how mainstream can you get??? Another point...how do you get that just because someone is not underground, then they ****??? I guarantee that underground stuff you listen to will be mainstream in the next couple of months/years. Where do you believe the St. Lunatics came from???
O.K. Rangerman. . . let me give this a second attempt. . . if i say anything that offends you in my remarks, please point them out and if i am in the wrong for anything i do apologize. . . .

O.K. First off. . . . When hip hop commercialized it opened the door to many people and probably most of the underground artist that are out now as well as commercial. I respect commercial influence for that, but my arguement is that it has drifted away from the roots of hip hop and mutated into nothing more then Main Stream Pop Culture. . . Does anyone not agree?

I dont think that Eminem sucks based on the fact that he worked the grime and proved himself before he became mainstream. He is a pioneer in his own time and he is really setting new standards as far as "Whites" entering the hip hop game. I dont like most of his commercially played raps. . . ex: My name is, Without Me, The Real Slim Shady etc. . .

I know in the spotlight his career consist of beating on defensless pop stars, and attacking the last good nerve of your "Decent adverage Citizen" Its a tool used and fueled by controversy and a gimmik to get a targeted age of Americans to pull that LP off the Shelf. . . . BUT. . .

If you take a look at his career in the Underground rings, you will see a whole new side to his skills. The man is a lyrical genious and as far as how he connects on just about every verse as far as Content, Wordplay, Metaphors, Imagery etc. . . i just feel that right now, in this space and time, nobody on commercial levels can match his skills. . . . In underground thats a different story. . . there is alot of competition.

Now Nelly on the other hand is the disease of Hip Hop. Lack of origionally structured content, he sounds (lyrically) like every other Hip POP rapper out. Its not true hip hop. . . . You have people out like Mos Def, Common, Company Flow, MF Doom, Supernatural, and the list goes on. . . . that constantly spit nothing but hip hop in its truest form, and you have Nelly and Lil Bow Wow winning nominations and Artist of the year awards for gods sake. . . .

That is my problem with commercial hip hop. . . . the people with true talent get SOOOOO slept on, cause they exploited the game, and glamorized the Fame, Money, Bytches, Cars, Houses, Platinum, and Gold taking away the street element that took them to the point they are at now. . . .

Any disagreements?

My dissagreement wiht uis tat uknow u'd do tha same **** thing !!!! They don't sing bout how hard life was growing up, instead they sing of what u can have if u play the game right and make it!! Don't u see that? Its all about the rewards!!!

Hey basicblow YOU ****, YA JACKASS

Common, Mos Def, Krs One, Pharoah Monk, Talib Kwali, Afu Ra, Saddat X just to name a few, has had great careers throughout America, the U.K. and Japan. . . None of them rap about *****es, money, cars and things of that sort. . . And NO, i would never sell out my style or exploit hip hop in order to get off with a paycheck. . . i have a career, i dont need hip hop to pay my way through life . . .

?They sing of what you can have if you play the game right? They play what appeals to the younger generation for record sales. . . The reward is being able to be heard.

Hey basicblow YOU ****, YA JACKASS
Yeah and why is that? Cause I have my own personality, and i dont give a shit wether anyone on the internet likes me or not???

You still have not given me a reason why Em is better than Nelly...you pretty much said the same ting with bigger words.

Oh sorry, i didnt know you were looking for a comparison between Nelly and Em. . .

To people who read into the lyricism there are alot of points that Em has over nelly. .

#1 Better punchlines and metaphors, this is more along the lines of battling but shares in part with freestyling capabilities. Basically you put a mic in front of Em and one in front of Nelly, Em would rip nelly a new *******. . . as KRS ONE did //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

#2 is Creativity. . . what rap of the decade was more brilliant and origional then Stan, I Am, Guilty Consience, or White america. although his content falls into a cliche of things on his commercial releases (exept for Cleaning out My Closet) his concepts are ingenious. . .

#3 Its real hip hop, take out the corney beats and there is true emceeing hiding behind it. Example: Role Model

#4 Lyrics. . . . has alot to do with his delivery and wordplay. Surpasses Nelly in content, emotion, imagery, & REALNESS.

Nelly on the other hand. . .

- Every joint is no different then any other club mix you hear

- Lyrics are bland and un-origional. Not a hint of decent metaphors, wordplay, or creditable vocabulary.

The only thing he has going for him is his vocals sound good, and they are spread over a POP beat that people get drawn to. Eminem is in a whole different class from Nelly, and even if Em wouldnt be able to get respect in the views of commercial consumers (or people who follow and worship mainstream artist). . . . he would still have his street crediatability. Nelly on the other hand. . . has no street creditablility and survives off Club Hits alone. . . .

No metaphors??? Everything that he and the Tics say are comparisons using like...Nelly's beats are way, way, WAY better just overall...Ems stuff sounds a bit like techno music;)

What i meant is that his metaphors IMHO are stupid. . . "Just kidding like Jason" . . . . Jason Kidd . . . . . EEEERRRRRR. . . .
Im not arguing that you should like Em better cause i do. . . im just stating my personal opinion on it. . .

And yea. . . Nellys beats ar o.k. as far as production. . . . . thats why Neptune Beats get so much royalty off Nelly. . . but lyrically i think he is garbage. . . .
