it looks like ill have a hard time getting a box in my trunk thats sub and port forward and i don't really want to build inside the trunk if i dont have to. so i was think about firing the sub up. so what you guys think? this would be for a ported 15 or 2 or and ya the trunk opening on my car sucks. the box i got now is 15.5 high and barely made it in the trunk so dont know about a box thats 16.5. so what you guys think should i do it?

it rattles the lid like a mofo
ya i figured that lol. im just hoping i wont lose out on to much from that. I'd also get some sound deadener and do the trunk lid and the rear deck and trunk. but just looking for some opinions from people who have done it and if they liked it or not and if they think i should do it.

lol , mabye someday:)

i did that once in a lincoln lsc and it worked out good. it seemed to add a little extra output in the 25-40hz range vs. sub foward.

and yes, deadener is a must.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

In my build which is 33 wide 16.5 high and 22 deep im doing sub back ports forward through the ski port hoping not to have to much rattle. And I figured ports forward would be the loudest getting it into the cab. Where are you firing your ports? My last box was ports back sub up man rattled like crazy

ur prolly gonna get a bunch of cancelation and it sound like crap....

I put an 18" BTL sub up port back in my trunk, it was a friends setup but we threw it in my car off my amp just for the hell of it. Sounded pretty nice, rear windshield flex was out of this world, but surprisingly the trunk rattle wasn't much worse then when I had sub back / port back. 18" BTL off of a Crunch GP3k.

i have a 93 olds cutlass supreme. i will be installing a dd3510 with the sub up and port into the trunk. the sub it self will be firing up through a hole(15"x15") in the rear deck. this will be replacing a 10w7 thats in there now.(just trying something diffrent)

it will be running on a fusion nv-am2500 @ 1ohm so when i finish it next weekend i will let ya know how it turnes out.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

cool i may try it out. i was thinking of using that same amp.

i tried the whole sub up thing and went back to rear firing shortly afterwards
hmm i guess i could try it out, i mean its only the cost of the wood. since ill be attempting to build the box my self this time. hopefully it works out well.

i might just build the box and then not put the top piece on until its in the trunk, but then i would not be able to put any screws in, but id glue and clamp and put some weight on it until the glue dries. what you guys think?

This worked for a friend of mine, but he built entire box in the trunk with pretty much no screws... Box is pretty solid. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.
