I'm looking to run my power wire and I found a factory grommet hole, but there's a rod running through it for my power steering. Could I still run my wire through the top of the "skirt" of the grommet (it has thin rubber surrounding the rod) or will it mess up my steering?

i had a problem with mine as well trying to run multiple wires from front to back. i just simply took a sawzall and made a hole bigger to run mine thru. it was easy seeing it cut like butter

How did you seal the hole back up ? and protect the wire from the sharp edge ?

Just bought one of the expensive ones off sonic, do you think it'd be smart to ask the auto mechanics teacher to drill a hole for me when he changes the oil?

No matter who drills the hole just be sure they have plenty of clearance before u let them in ur car with power tools. Check for wire harness's and brake lines(or booster). Also check for the exact diameter on sonics site before u drill.
