Ok, box is a 1.03 cu ft sealed, amp is an elemental designs Nine.1. Plain and simple, which sub is better for my setup? IDMax or RL-P? I listen to 75% rap, 25% rock, i want a decent sq sub, but i also want it to hit very very hard. So which one? Price is not the issue anymore, i want the better sub.

i would suggest listing to both of them to see witch one you prefer.
Not really an option. No one in my area (central New Jersey) has either of these subs. All the car audio shops around here **** as well.

I like the RL-P
Well, the sub will get like 1200 watts if i run it at 1 ohm. Would an IDMax getting 1200 watts be much louder than a RL-P running like 900? I want a loud loud sub!! But also good sound quality.

I'd go with the Rl-p. 1200 is a bit high for an IDMax anyway.
Ive heard the oppisite in fact. People have been saying that 1200 is too high for an RL-P, but decent with the IDMax as long as I watch gain. Basically im sure they both have enough SQ for me, now its coming down to which sub will have more SPL at that power?

That amp is such a good deal right now for that price, I can't pass it up. I just need the better sub to go along with that amp.

I'm not an SPL guy so I can't really give you good advice there, I'd assume the difference in SPL at that power would be minimal to the human ear. Are you planning to take this to SPL competitions or something?

Mike from SS himself said 1200 would be a little rough on the RL-P, but the problem is, that amp is like the best amp and basically the only one i trust in the 200-300 dollar price range. I don't wanna get a hifonics and have it shit out on me, plus with the ED im buying it from the factory, so i get a 3 year warranty.

Not at all. Its for a daily driver. I just wanna make sure i get the best sub for my setup.

And it seems that the RLP is better for like 600 watts or under, and i don't wanna run that low, i wanted to run at 1000 watts or above, so i need a sub that can handle that and not be on the brink of death all the time.

Just get the one that you can find cheapest. They are both good choices and I doubt you'd regret going with either one...... or you could buy both? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
