He's right. its because companies like sub zone tune their boxes they sell at like 40hz sometimes higher. And most people dont know to set the SSF. Yes any sub can be blown. Some ssf arent adjustable so that make it harder when trying to run a high tuned ported box. My 1200.1 has a pre set ssf, it works great when running a properly tuned box

so are all the subs in question ok to run in sealed boxes if i have them custom made? I dont thnk she is going to be playing them to the point where they might blow. she wont try to push them to the max like i would lol.

As long as properly installed they can all sound pretty good sealed. Considering the price and warranty, I buy the squares that I mentioned in the PM.

Because JL dealers are bastards and JL spends too much money advertising, and not imo. I would possibly buy a used one.. but if I got took... a recone is like $350 I heard. FOK THAT.

Keep me informed. I have been looking for a 15" XXX or a Ti Pro for the last couple days. Is it 1 ohm x 4 coils? I have 2000 watts rms and dying to put them to use in a single sub setup.

the funny thing about my sub is that if im outside playing it loud it dont seem that loud like i want it. but if i go in the house it sounds loud. and all my neighbors hate it. they always telling me to turn it down. a lady across the street told me it was shaking stuff in her house and i was like yeah ok, so she took me over there and sure enough you could hear the windows making a vibrating noise from the music lol. But yeah im thinking its gonna be kicker. what size do you think is best?

we might be able to work out a trade. I have two S12L7's that are insanely loud. I am just bored with them. I have always wanted to try out an uber woofer since I have such a sweet amp. S12L7's ported (3.2 cubes each, tuned to 33 hertz are insanely loud. People aren't kidding when they say SPL subs. Dont know who told you they arent for spl? Kicker l7's are more geared for spl. I would do something else besides JL audio. Yes they are decent but way overpriced. Try the R'S if you want a little of both. I wouldnt do the l7's sealed if you go that route. Make a nice custom box for them and you will be happy. Good luck!
