(2) MTX RT 12-04 vs (2) JL 10w1-8

Im putting together a system for a friend and need a little help. He already has 2 MTX Road Thunder 12" subs and recently acquired 2 10w1-8 that are about 3-4 years old. The final box design has a volume of about 2.16 cu ft. Which would you choose? Power is no problem here, just a matter of which subs to choose.

I'm probably going to be selling him my Hifonics zx6400 amp. It puts out 340w x 2 at 4 ohms. Since the JLs are 8 ohm subs, does that mean they will only be receiving 170w? If so, this will stiff be fine because the subs are only 125w rms.
