I have a $500 budget system planned for my 94 toyota Paseo. I've narrowed it down to this, some parts I have, some I dont. Let me know if you can suggest anything better for the price or if I'll need anything else.

Alpine CDE 9881 HU (have)

Kicker dual amp kit (4g that splits to two 8g wires) $90

Knu Koncepts Klarity 5 meter RCA's (2 sets) $15

Power Bass S5C components $40

Alpine MRV-T707 2 channel amp (have)

Kicker ZX300.1 mono amp (refurbished) $100

Incriminator Audio 187 12inch Sub $135

As for speaker wire:

Knu 16g 60ft for the components

Knu 12g 6ft for the sub

I listen to mostly indie rock and rap/hiphop with some random dubstep thrown in.

oh sick. Ive never seen that sub b4. Which do you think would be better for my goals? I'm hoping the sub can cover some of my mid bass as well but that wont sound horrible when playing rap/hiphop.

Ive ever considering maybe getting a 15 instead of a 12 but idk if its worth it? For 3-400rms wont that be kinda on the weaker side for a 15.

Ill sell you some 16 gauge kicker wire if you want? its black and blue...
how much do you have? used?

15 will sound good. FI is good stuff. Just as good as IA.but do realize its a single voice coil. So. Buy a single 2.

I run a FI BTL 18 and I love it. Also I would run a ported box on these but you can run sealed. Also the 15 can run in a 4 cube box.

The price I have listed for the IA 187 is the shipped price so the IA should cost me a little less. I think I might actually go with that since idk to much about the fi X but I'll still consider it. It will be going in a custom ported box built by a forum member. So that will be covered.

I'm just not sure if I should get a 15 or a 12. It's a small trunk but I only put my back pack in it really.

Also, a kicker zx400 amp is only $30 more so thats not a problem.

The difference between the loudness of a 15 compared to a twelve isn't that big. And a 15 won't take up much more room.

Its just up to you if you want a box taking up another cubic foot or two in your trunk. But me personally I don't run anything below a 15.

well, i like waffle does have a point. for what your paying, you could go with used or even budget brand equipment. sub woofer wise, i stay away from budget sub woofers, i just cant buy a cheap sub as i know between the amp and the sub, the sub will be taking a big beating and i want to know itll hold up.

im not familiar with audio pipe sub woofers, but i have read up on the ap30001d and know its good on actually putting out its rated wattage.

personally, unless you dead set on what is in your to buy list, i would surf around the classifieds for some used equipment, or some budget brand equipment.

For the same price with audiopipe equipment you could have a single 15" on 1000wrms, lol.
haha true. First off, I dont wanna run 1000rms. Maybe more like 600. I heard audio pipe doesnt exactly run the cleanest power and isnt that reliable. So why spend 100$ when it will cost you another 100$ later. It kinda just makes me nervous.

I found this amp here that seems nice:

Audiopipe APSM1300 1000 RMS Mono Mini Amplifier

but then saw this:

What's wrong with these pictures!? (Audiopipe APSM-1300 design flaw) - DIYMA.com - Scientific Car Audio - Truth in Sound Quality

And I dont know anymore.

Would you still get this amp after this?

haha why? I thought about this but I couldnt find any advantage to the Dcon over the 187 for the price, which is an extra $25.

no i wouldn't buy anything audio pipe after seeing that. Ive never ran audio pipe, and probably never will, they strike me as cheap junk, just the look screams fleamarket.

anyway, i think your list of stuff will be fine. your buying good quality stuff and if your happy with the amount of power you'll be running, your good to go.

thanks, yeah I even calculated the AP amp, + wiring I'd need with addition of an AQ sub. It's still over $100 difference so I'm not looking to spend that much.

I mainly down to deciding between a Dcon and 187 and weather to get a 15 or not. But after seeing your post I just might.

Regarding the subs though, which do you think would be best at playing midbass frequencies?
