I have a few simple questions maybe someone could answer. I read that subs can be broken in..? Whats the deal with that..? And i have a hifonics 1505 amp in my car and i was wondering if it is normal after use if it gets warm..? Its not burning hot that you can't touch it but it is warm enough you can notice it if you touch it.. I haven't had any problems with the radio or the whole setup just the fact it was warm i was kinda unsure if im comfortable with it..

sub burn in is a highly debated topic. you could notice a slight change in sound within the first week or so of use, if so, that's burn in, if not you're not a believer of burn in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

many amps run warm, some hot. it shouldn't be anything to worry about. if the thermal protection starts shutting your amp off, then you have a ventilation problem.

breaking in a sub is a personal preference, subswill break in over time of regular listening

an amps heat sink feeling hot means that its doing what its supposed to do, take heat from internals and transfer them to the heat sink

burn in is what happens on Tv's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Well as a general rule of thumb, I dont blare any kind of new audio equipment I get, ( headphones, guitar amp, speakers ) for a few days, just play it on some low volumes

it is tempting to blare it tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've never bothered to "break in" any sub, I've always cranked the volume right on up and never had any problems, I will say though that my rl-p definitely put out a noticeable amount of more output after about a week of play time. It, I believe is specified to have more output after a "break in" period though. So with that said I guess some subs need some time to develop their full potential, either way you aren't going to harm anything by letting in wang upon install.

I did with my new subs, couldnt help it.. i need them to be loud becuase i have an engine noise problem that im having toruble fixing. The only way to get rid of it, is to turn that ish up loud! lol.

Alot of people say the "break in period" is a myth. But others will say its good for the subs. I have always broken in subs before blaring them really loud. But its a personal prefereance of mine.

i had planned on breaking in my last subs but when i went to a buddies house they kinda took over and bumped for hours that same night. never had a problem. my new subs are used, one of which was in a system hittin 155.x so i'd say it's already broken in.
