well much progress has been done today.
i started out with my mission of pulling the amp beauty panel. first i trimmed off some of the excess fleece and excess fiberglass. then i cut out the holes for the trunk door support bars. initially i though they were going to be small. little did i know that wasn't going to happen. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
they turned out a little longer than what i had hoped and now i feel it kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. i'll have to figure something out when fleecing. maybe have a flap like thing underneath it and cover it with suede. i dono.. i'll figure that out some how.
after that i managed to finally close the trunk. i haven't been able to close it for the past 4 days lols.
after that i decided to add the weather stripping for a test. success at that. and the stripping really pins the panel in place. though i smashed my thumb with a rubber mallet while doing it. after i felt happy with the results i pulled the panel out and began to prep sand both panels for body filler.did some fine tweaking and onto the filler. i really hate using bondo filler. i would have used rage gold but i wasn't thinking and didn't order it ahead of time(not found locally). i started out with sanding the rear dash panel i did the majority of it today. now i'm not looking for paint worthy sanding. i just need to get all my curves settled and flats flattened and smooth enough to be covered with the suede. that's pretty much where it ended today. a lot of sanding and still much more to come. i'm going to hate doing that amp panel.
