Hi guys new to the forum. So I recently purchased a 2004 f150 super crew. When I purchased the truck the last owner had installed a Pyle touchscreen dash unit. I also found a Scosche 4 gauge wire running from the battery with a missing fuse. I could not find a distribution block but under my back seats is an 8 gauge wire. So I figured I would put an amp and subwoofer back there. So I purchased a Kicker C10 (4ohm/150w) and an MTX tc3001.
My questions now are what else do I need. Just an RCA, remote wire, and speaker wire to connect the sub to amp? Oh and a fuse, maybe 30amp? And with this setting would I use the 4ohm or 2 ohm on the side of the amp since I have an option. Also, would I be better off running my own wire from the battery since I do not know why it split from 4g to 8g?
Any help would be appreciated I have never attempted any upgrade to audio before. Thanks.
