Extreme low idle voltage. New alternator

So I just replaced my 12 year old alternator, because of mad voltage drop even with out my subs on.

Got a brand new 220 amp and it's still the same maybe even worse.

Wtf could this be? I also have big 3 done in 1/0

i had voltage drops to cause of the big three. maybe your alt needs to break in?

no i had the same thing happened to me. it must be the way u put you alt, the ground connection and such, trust me i had at idle like 12v. had to be ur connections? also what alt u have can play a role too

A Ho alt should put out at least 14 volts

what kind of car? my honda wont put out more than 12.8 til there is a load and the computer tells the alt to start putting in work.

The battery is about 2 months old. I got the best one at oriellys that wasnt a gel cell

Bad ground is a possibility. I'll check.

And did you say big 3 caused voltage drop?? I'm gonna take off my 1/0 quick and see if that helps anything

Big 3 doesn't cause voltage drop unless you did something wrong. The point of the Big 3 is to reduce voltage drop

Big 3 doesn't cause voltage drop unless you did something wrong. The point of the Big 3 is to reduce voltage drop

I removed my big 3 and it made no changes. I tightened up all my connections to and from battery and alternator, no changes.
