You do realize that it is a fact that some people can perceive less than a 1 decibel change and that I JUST told you that 1 decibel is the definition of JND, right?

You can go on if you wish, as an installer of 15 years and feeling and hearing differences, 1 db has never been an audible difference. Then once i graduated from that to becoming an audio engineer and mixing and mastering music 1db increase in volume creates almost no change and is most certainly not audible. You can post quotes all you want to, i go by experience and things i have been witness to, not just what someone says in a book or a quote. We can just agree to disagree, i say 3db is the threshhold to hear a difference, you say 1 or even .5 db's.

Well....

Sitting in my truck listening and while having the T/L going.....my hu did NOT make a 3bd gain per "click"

For me, I can hear/notice a 2db difference...again in my truck with a T/L going......so.....

It all depends on which HU.. And your own ears... So technically neither one is "always correct"

Then your hearing is compromised. And you're apparently hard headed.

1db is the standard. Can EVERYone perceive a 1db change in intensity? No. But MOST people can and some people can hear less than 1db. I assure you that the people that wrote the quoted text are more learned and experienced on the subject than you are from spending 15 years "installing". Not sure why you even included that in your little resume' since it adds exactly zero credibility.

Whatever. Back on topic... I'd take an M4a over a Stetsom 7k every day of the week. I've owned both.

I have all the tools and equipment needed.... So here's what I'm goin to do

'll do a video and burp it at 149dbs and see how many clicks it takes to get to 150dbs... And my system is set with an O-scope to play 75% volume (30/40 clicks) with zero distortion.... Not 10%thd or 1%thd.. But 0.0% lol

As for the difference to the ears.. Ugh I don't think I can sit in there as the deck is in the hatch.. I could get longer RCA's.. ... Or I might be able to find someone?

rofl, i'm glad i have zero credibility and you are the all knowing jerk of car audio. Pretty funny when i call an engineer that has designed and built some of the best amps in the industry and his response to what you said is "wow, he must be the bionic audio man if he can hear 1db".....

anyways, i know now who NOT to attempt to have a rational conversation with since it's quite clear your opinion is the bible to you.....

Going from 2 9512s on a 5Kto 2 9912s on a 7K?

Doing a 150 flat right now at 38hz

I'm guessing 3db or a bit more considering what people gained going from HDC3s to HDC4s

well since you are already at a 150db im going to say maybe 1.25 - 1.50dbs, only because once you get to a 150, gaining becomes more difficult.

Volume 30=150.25dbs ..63db gain
