hey i have an audiocontrol EQX. the sub-bass frequency bandwidth is adjusted at half-octave points and 6 bands are used for them. i have my crossover points set at 72 hz and was wondering if equalizing is USUALLY applied from 31hz to 90hz?? or from 31hz to 180hz? i dont have access to an RTA anywhere and i dont know what freqquencies would need to be cutted or boosted (if necessary) with what seems like such small bandwidth (31-180 hz)

Depending on the sub / enclosure / cabin, you might not need to adjust it at all. if that's the case, then you don't even need the equalizer.

Depends on what you mean by "usually". If accurate music reproduction is your goal, then in all likelyhood that bandwidth will need some form of equalization.

Whether or not you think your system needs equalized in that bandwidth for your normal listening I guess is up to you. In "most" daily drivers it probably isn't needed, simply because all they want is loud bass (or louder than what they had before) and don't really care how flat or accurate that bass response is. But for true accurate frequency response and sound reproduction, it probably is needed.

well, i could find use in the EQX in shaping the higher octaves like from 250hz to 16khz thats for sure. right?
