Eq and crossover hook up question

I have both an eq and a crossover and was wondering what's the best way to run the RCAs. I'm using the eq just for the voice.

if that's all it will be used for, then run the cross-over first, and then hook the eq just to that set of rcas. if it's a real nice eq, and does not have it's own cross-over built in, i would be inclined to use it before the cross-over and fine tune the whole setup, not just the mids. seems like a waste.
