2004 Regular Cab Silverado

Battery: Service Central Advantage 75, part 18-75, CCA: 200, Reserve 120, Sticker says "07/09"

PPI Art A300: 75 x 2 @ 4ohms is how it will be used, its also rated 300 x 1 @ 4 ohms

Memphis 4 gauge ofc power wire

I have not installed it yet. One of my last concerns is the age of the battery. Sometimes its slow to start, as in a few pumps of the gas gets it going, but im not sure if that is the battery, or something else. It has 162k miles on it. Being a regular cab id like to avoid adding a second battery if possible, and also due to the chance that i might need to replace the battery under the hood anyway. Also in the back of my mind is future upgrades to a ~1000-1500 watt sub, and not wanting to throw away anything but wiring. The space I have to work with under the hood is fairly large, the current battery is approx 10.5" wide. At this point I need help deciding what is the best option between:

1) replacing the old stock battery under the hood with something similar to a kinetik 1800 or more

2) replacing the old stock battery with a similar new battery or red top and then adding an isolator/battery when needed.

3) buying a $150 kinetik hc600 w/isolator included from craigslist and add it to the existing setup, then buying a red top when the service central batt dies.

I was planning on getting the install done by someone else, and wanted to have all the equipment in one trip, so I havent been able to see if the lights dim or if the gauges show a drop. The last piece of information would be if i got the existing battery tested somewhere to see exactly what condition it is in. I plan on doing that very soon, but thought id post this thread first in hopes that it will save me from seeing the goons at autozone. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

well, first, you shouldn't be touching the gas to get it started. that engine does need 10.5v to run the injectors. first thing i would do is have your existing battery load tested, and check your battery terminals. if the battery and connections are good, then look at your fuel system. likely you are also experiencing low power at higher rpm's, which it should be snapping a hard smooth pull from 3k-5700, or wherever it shifts, @ wot. or, experiencing a rough idle. if not, then it could just be the weak cranking voltage. i know you don't need another battery, so i would just upgrade the stock battery, like option1. i run an x2 power under the hood with the stock 165a delphi alternator and it will handle every bit of the 110-125a draw of the amp, plus stock electrical all day long not going under 13.5v. being @ 165k mi., i would expect your fuel pump to be giving up and the injectors in need of a cleaning, if neither has been done yet.
