Enlightened JL Audio W7

I have owned many various subs, ie kicker L7's (****) Polk m series, rockford t1's, mtx, even a sundown. I had always heard many of these brands hyped by "audio" dudes, on the internet, or on forums such as this one. Most of the brands mentioned are mostly decent, but not jaw dropping. Course, much of subwoofer opinion is subjective, but I digress.......... I had always wondered if a JL W7 was worth the money for a sub................. You better f'in believe it. No comparison in quality of sound vs any sub I've owned or heard. Sure, they are some that are louder (barely, and it has to be a 15 to be so), but again...... WOW!!! I put 2 12" w7's in my trunk, and I cannot turn the volume up nearly what it's capable of. Two subs are powered by 2 JL Hd 750's. Anyway, did the average dude know that people go on these forums, and tout subs because they get paid to? There are also people paid to write bad, or negative reviews on audio, to promote their own. LOL, no, I don't work for JL. I'm just sharing that all the sub brands that say they are "as good" as JL, but cheaper, are just cheaper in my opinion. I realized this, if JL is so bad, then why are so many subs compared to JL? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

yeah, dude you just listed a bunch of junker subs and a sundown (which im sure is a sa or lower model and costs 1/12th the price of a w7) i should hope a sub that costs twice what the most expensive sub u listed is louder and sounds better than any of them. unfortunately for you (and jl) any decent sub from any good non mainstream company beats or matches the w7, and if one doesnt quite do it 2 will....or 4-6 if you wanna spend the same amount as retail on one w7. buy a tc sound lms ultra 5400 and compare it to 4 w7s....then throw the pos w7s away

Which one are you calling decent? I think they were all junky over hyped. The rockford's were decent, the rest................... junky. All the hype I heard on two of the brands, Sundown, Mtx.............. I expected more. I forget the model, but they were upper level of those brands. Anyway...........

where the fawk did you hear hype on mtx or any of the others?

ive had alot of different setups over the past 10 years or so. i changed out my setup all the time and trading up to get a better sound. sq and spl. i now have 2 13w7s powered by 2 jl 1000/1 slash amps and i would have to say this setup is the keeper. ill have this setup in my truck until it falls apart. and when it does ill go buy the exact same setup. everything else just seems like a waste of money.

so sad, id sell that and outfit 2 or 3 or 4 cars with better sounding and louder set ups.

Not in all cases, but in some, yes
