Are underseat subwoofers worth a punt?

I've recently had installed Morel Maximo 6 Components powered by a 2 channel Soundstream STL2.350 Power Amplifier into a Nissan Qashqai. Being powered by a JVC HU.

I'm enjoying the new speakers sometimes, and other times thinking its really lacking something. Maybe missing some general 'energy' or just oomph.

So I'm guessing I need a sub? I know its best to get a proper sub box and amp etc but for simplicity (and keeping the other half happy) I'm considering an underseat active sub, like the Focal iBus 20: Focal IBus 20, high fidelity subwoofer easy to integrate in your car.

Assuming underseat is the only option, is it worth doing or just a complete waste of time? Thanks!

Well if that's your only option, then it will be better than nothing.

What kind of vehicle is it? Some pretty good things can be done to keep a decent sub out of the way.

It's a Nissan Qashqai, so fairly roomy, but my wife will kill me if I start taking up the room with sound gear - we bought the car to carry babies and their belongings!

I'm tempted to just go with it, as you say, must be better than nothing right? What else would you suggest?

2 sa8 v2s dont take up much room power them with a decent 1500 amp

There are 8" subs that take as little as 0.35 cubic ft sealed box, and some of the new Class D amps are tiny. You don't have to lose much space to have a real subwoofer.
