Enlightened JL Audio W7

I have owned many various subs, ie kicker L7's (****) Polk m series, rockford t1's, mtx, even a sundown. I had always heard many of these brands hyped by "audio" dudes, on the internet, or on forums such as this one. Most of the brands mentioned are mostly decent, but not jaw dropping. Course, much of subwoofer opinion is subjective, but I digress.......... I had always wondered if a JL W7 was worth the money for a sub................. You better f'in believe it. No comparison in quality of sound vs any sub I've owned or heard. Sure, they are some that are louder (barely, and it has to be a 15 to be so), but again...... WOW!!! I put 2 12" w7's in my trunk, and I cannot turn the volume up nearly what it's capable of. Two subs are powered by 2 JL Hd 750's. Anyway, did the average dude know that people go on these forums, and tout subs because they get paid to? There are also people paid to write bad, or negative reviews on audio, to promote their own. LOL, no, I don't work for JL. I'm just sharing that all the sub brands that say they are "as good" as JL, but cheaper, are just cheaper in my opinion. I realized this, if JL is so bad, then why are so many subs compared to JL? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Seems like you had a bunch of junky subs and one decent one and the w7's are your first high quality sub.

I ran a w7 13, great sub. Got loud and sounded great. But there are PLENTY of subs that can get louder. And with your statement on a louder sub has to be atleast a 15,, there are plenty 10's that will get louder.

Which one are you calling decent? I think they were all junky over hyped. The rockford's were decent, the rest................... junky. All the hype I heard on two of the brands, Sundown, Mtx.............. I expected more. I forget the model, but they were upper level of those brands. Anyway...........

The enclosure will make a huge difference. Id take DC, Sundown, SSA, Incriminator Audio, Fi and lots more over jl anyday.

I won't argue that. I haven't heard them, but doubt they will sound better, but maybe............ I can't say I've heard every sub out there. Wanted to hear a brahma sold by Adire everyone used to nut hug......... Oh wait, they're out of business.

I did have custom enclosure. I had a sundown z 12", sorry, but wasn't that great

in pure sound quality, the w7 could win over the sundown z. but if the sundown was not louder, you did it wrong.

Sorry to sound stupid, but had not heard of w7 15, and it must be NASTY. Lots of dudes hate JL. Don't know why. As I said in my post, dudes tout other brands probably because they work for them. I don't know. I know the two w7's I have a freakin louder than I need, and the SQ is UNBELIEVABLE
